of Honour : Mr. Ravindra Gupta |
"I was expecting Mr Ganesh to give a welcome
address, but it was more of a wakeup call. I must
complement ACMA for having instituted these national
awards."
"….It is true that manufacturing is, especially,
under pressure. For reasons of global economic slow
down and certain issues and problems specific to our
country, there is a greater pressure on manufacturing
industry survive and do well. I am extremely proud
of our auto component industry."
"I share the concern of ACMA that the first
quarter for the first time has registered a negative
growth. ….The government is seized of this problem……"
I hold the view that the reforms that have taken
place is the tip of the iceberg…..structural
reforms or domestic reforms, as Ganesh calls them,
are extremely important if we have to not only nurture
existing industry but attract investment and create
income and employment."
"….However, it is our goal that we shall
make this country a hub for small car manufacturers
and a global source for automotive components…."
With this I would like to reaffirm my support, support
of the Government for the growth of auto industry
in this country and, also, like to reiterate my confidence
in you.

Guest : Mr Sachio Yamazaki - No change is the
worst choice |
"I am honoured to address this august gathering
as a Keynote speaker"
"Re-alignments or Consolidation between auto
giants are taking place ….. primary lessons
we have learnt from this Global trend is that competition
has led to Co-operation and not the other way round.
…."
"We firmly believe that quality and cost are
compatible, not a trade off"
"…Please note, we stress on cost reduction
by various improvements and not merely by asking them
to reduce price…."
"Need of the hour is change….We have to
innovate, evolve and continuously improve. Change
is a constant partner, it challenges and it brings
out the best in all of us…. No change is the
worst choice…"
"…we strongly believe that top Management's
"Will" to change and long term commitment
is very essential."
"But Co-operation is give and take ….
both parties should be able to benefit, only then
can Co-operation exist in Business…today, Toyota
and General Motors have joined hands to undertake
research on Fuel cell Development."
"I would like to take this opportunity to participate
in your initiatives for co-operation in a small way.
I invite all of you to visit our plant to initiate
Co-operation amongst all of us."
With this concluding remark, Mr Yamazaki, could not
have given greater proof of intent towards "Initiative
for Co-operation".
