Recently, the police raided and unearthed a factory, alleged to have been manufacturing duplicate COMET bulbs in Dehradun. The culprits were arrested with large quantities of spurious bulbs along with other items. The owners, Amarjit Singh and his sons Gurvinder Singh and Khusvinder Singh, were arrested by the Clement Town Thana Police, in Dehradun, for the manufacture and sale of fake auto bulbs, stamped with the trade mark COMET. The accused were produced in court and no bail was granted in the first instance.

The owners of the COMET Bulb Factory, had been receiving complaints for sometimes past that 'duplicate' bulbs were being supplied in the market from Dehradun. After following up, the matter was reported to the police. The Special Operation Police Squad took action, accordingly. More action was expected in this direction, soon.
